After numerous investments and renovations, the Val de Tamié has become a natural setting in the heart of Haute-Savoie, where relaxation and discovery combine to offer an unforgettable experience. Nestled at an altitude of 900 metres in the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park, this estate enjoys a privileged geographical location between Annecy and Albertville, offering easy access to a wide range of activities all year round.
History of Val de Tamié
Founded in 1974 by local teachers and residents, the initial aim of the Foyer de ski de fond des Combes association was to promote Nordic skiing. It quickly became successful and popular with schools in Faverges. With the addition of services such as equipment hire and the creation of a gîte, it grew to offer year-round activities. Renamed Val de Tamié in the early 2000s, it continues to spread throughout the Savoyard departments by encouraging Nordic skiing and offering multi-purpose facilities, such as the Salle Michel Levet, inaugurated in 2018. Surrounded by unspoilt nature, it's not uncommon to spot roe deer and hinds frolicking nearby, inviting you to take a real break from everyday life.
Summer or winter, a paradise for activities
Whether you're a winter sports enthusiast or a summer hiker, the Val de Tamié has something for everyone. In winter, the Nordic ski slopes and snowshoe trails offer you moments of pure bliss in a snow-covered landscape. In summer, explore the many hiking trails through the surrounding mountains or enjoy water activities on beautiful Lake Annecy.

Summer activities
In summer, Val de Tamié offers a tranquil setting in the heart of the mountains and forests. The site is ideally situated in the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park, offering a wealth of hiking opportunities. The nearby resort of La Sambuy offers a range of activities including tobogganing, hiking, via ferrata and paragliding, with breathtaking views of Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc. Just 20 minutes away is Lake Annecy, where you can enjoy beaches and water sports in the crystal-clear, salt-free waters. A variety of cycling routes are also available, from road bikes to mountain bikes, with options for all levels of ability. Route maps are available from reception. Find out more...
Winter activities
In winter, the Val de Tamié offers a wide range of activities, including a 27-kilometre Nordic ski area with a remarkable view of Tamié Abbey. Between Annecy and Albertville, the cross-country skiing centre offers marked trails in the heart of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park, suitable for beginners and experienced skiers alike, with an 11-kilometre black run. You can enjoy authentic skiing in the middle of wild landscapes and forests, in a peaceful environment. On site, the foyer offers equipment hire, ski pass sales and a heated hors sac room.
Nearby, snowshoe treks are also possible through the forests, even as far as the Abbaye, although the groomed pistes are reserved for skiers. For higher challenges, Montagne Sensation's guides offer hikes in the Combe de la Sambuy and other peaks.
For more adventurous skiers, the Sambuy resort offers ideal terrain for ski touring, with a marked path leading to the summit where you can descend back onto the slopes or continue further, but with the necessary off-piste precautions, including proper equipment.
